Who is Woj Milewski?

Hello there!

In my day job I work as a software developer for the tech consulting firm Thoughtworks.

I’ve been building software profesionally for over a decade, worked on amazing projects, and learned from some incredibly smart people along the way. My main interest has been developing distributed systems at scale, such as currency exchange or payment platforms - if only because of their sheer transactional volumes. Serving millions of requests per day/hour/second poses just the kind of challenges I love thinking about and solving when building software.

People tell me that, unusually for a dev, I’m very people-oriented and express a lot of interest in topics such as coaching, ways of working, etc. I make a conscious effort in this space for a simple reason: even the best engineering effort can be tragically wasted if the team develop a product that customers don’t need, or worse - a bunch of talented individuals are unable to form a well-functioning team in the first place. It’s a tragedy to see potential go down the drain.
